Moy Baun is an East Coast artist who has been steadily gaining attention. His passion for music first started to show when he was a DJ, but sometime after he decided to hop in the booth. Ever since he made the switch, he’s been receiving feedback and love from thousands of fans.
His musical inspiration comes from two of his favorite genres; reggae and hip hop. Moy Baun grew up in Queens, New York with his mother, but his family is originally from Jamaica. His father and many other relatives still lived in Jamaica, and he hadn’t ever been there to see them. A couple of years back is when made his first trip there. He went there for the first time around 2016, and it was a life-changing experience for him. He was happy to see them and build a connection with everyone. Moy Baun was able to reconnect with his Jamaican roots and was able to dive deep into the reggae scene. He grew up listening to reggae legends such as Bob Marley, Sizzla, Mavado, Shaggy, and many others. He was even able to secure Sizzla for a remix on one of his singles, “Solid”. His hip hop influences come from the classic rap era including greats like Tupac, Biggie, and Snoop Dogg to name a few.
Needless to say, Moy Baun has created a unique style of his own, taking parts from both genres. His smooth voice and catchy flow is the reason his latest single, “ Chances”, has been doing numbers on Youtube. With his unique flow and melody, he describes the battles he faced and how he overcame them by focusing on his blessings and remaining resilient through all the negativity. His whole life, he’s been taking chances, and his success is evidence that believing in yourself pays off. That’s what “Chances” is all about.
