Maddie Morrison is a rising social media lifestyle blogger living in Auckland, New Zealand. Having accumulated almost 20,000 followers on Instagram on her page @maddie_morrison we interviewed her to find out exactly how she got her start and to go behind the brand.
How did you get into being an Instagram blogger?
I don’t really know to be honest! I probably go on instagram just as much as the next person, but I love being able to share what I like and what I am into via that platform, and it’s so nice to be able to see and share experiences from anywhere and everywhere and I feel like by doing that it has just gradually happened!
Is Instagram blogging now your full-time career?
It isn’t yet! I would love it to be, but I seem to go through waves of lacking the confidence to post things of myself, and it definitely seems like it can only become a full-time job if you are consistently active on it and only then can it possibly become a full-time career.
What other platforms are you on besides Instagram?
I started up a YouTube channel several years ago, I wish I had attempted making one earlier as I felt like I tried to get into it too late. Sadly my channel has hardly any content, I think when I’m feeling more confident I will get back into it!
What is your favourite thing about blogging?
I think just being able to connect with people from all around the world. I love being able to see other peoples experiences and photos from their travels and adventures! I love seeing people be supportive of each other.
What is the least favourite thing about blogging?
I think the judgement that comes with it, or people being unnecessarily rude to people they don’t even know.
What goals do you have for 2020?
One of my personal goals for the year would definitely be to try build more confidence! I feel like I hold myself back a lot, I would love to try push past that!
Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
I love the idea of starting my own family, so I would love to say I see myself as a mother! I’d hope to have found my passion and full-time career by then too!
