18-year-old steamer, musician, magician, and entertainer Hamzah Saadah was born in New Jersey and now lives in Texas. Crucially, his Palestinian-American heritage has helped him develop into the successful content creator known as Absorber. In an interview, Absorber spoke about the impact his family and culture had on him. He says, “From my family, [the person that got me to where I am] would have to be my mother. She has been by my side through everything, and I would not be anywhere without her.”
Absorber began entertaining at a young age by playing an Arabic instrument named the Qanun, and he still plays to this day. The reaction on people’s faces during his performances is what inspired him to keep creating. Next, his uncle showed him magic. Absorber remembers, “After music, I discovered magic. My uncle showed me a simple little coin trick that amazed me and entertained me. I wanted others to feel that way, so I started to buy these magic sets. A few years later, I moved on to simple card tricks and have since advanced into a skilled card magician. With the card tricks I used to do, I loved the reaction I got from people, so I began thinking about how I could possibly gain a larger audience.”
Social media and YouTube gave Absorber the outlet he needed to reach people; however, his magic content and subsequent vlogging did not gain traction. This was when he transitioned to gaming, and his career took off. Today, Absorber produces mainly Fortnite and Minecraft content for his more than 8 million followers across platforms. He also plans to expand his gaming impact with the development of a gaming organization, and he hopes to one day fulfill his entertaining dream of hosting a late-night talk show.
