Financier-Philanthropist Stan Bharti

Entrepreneurs and big businessmen, particularly those who work in finance, are seldom seen as particularly charitable individuals. It is often assumed that financiers and investors simply “play around” and gamble with large amounts of money with little regard for others’ overall well-being. Prominent examples of unethical and even criminal acts from some of the largest and most established entrepreneurs and financial institutions do little to curtail such a notion.

Profiting through finance, investment, and big business, however, does not necessitate such behavior. Like Microsoft’s Bill Gates and Paul Allen and Bloomberg co-founder Michael Bloomberg, some leading entrepreneurs have distinguished themselves through their philanthropy as much as their work in business and entrepreneurship. In addition, the recent decades have seen an exponential rise in the popularity of concepts like corporate social responsibility and sustainably. With this cultural and societal incentive, business individuals and their companies have become increasingly involved in using their vast resources to give back to the world.

Financial resources can indeed be used in the single-minded pursuit of greater profit with little regard for ethical and moral behavior. At the same time, though, a company with an ethos of social responsibility will find ways to tie their growth with the positive impact it exerts on its community.

International consultant, financier, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Stan Bharti is one who firmly believes in the latter school of thought. In his over 30 years in the business of financing and managing various sectors that include mining, agriculture, energy, finance, and technology, Mr. Bharti has made it his personal commitment to uphold his social responsibility. In accordance with this, Mr. Bharti selects, acquires, finances, and manages promising startups and struggling companies alike, as long as they can potentially contribute greatly to the economy. Aside from this, Mr. Bharti spends a great majority of his time and resources contributing to charitable works all over the world.

Mr. Bharti develops and finances promising projects both through his own private capital as well as through public markets. Mr. Bharti primarily conducts such business through the international merchant bank and finance house he founded, Forbes & Manhattan Inc. Recognized around the world for its leadership in developing, financing, and finishing projects in the sectors of natural resources, infrastructure, energy, and technology, F&M combines technical, financial, and operational expertise through its team of over 1,000 highly-qualified professionals, including software developers, engineers, geologists, investment bankers, and financiers. Initially established in Toronto, the company has since grown to have offices in New York, Los Angeles, London, and Moscow to service its global clientele adequately. Currently, the firm focuses on the development and operation of over 20 companies in the Americas, Europe, Africa, and FSU countries.

Beyond his firm’s economic contributions, Mr. Bharti also takes part in philanthropy with major contributions and memberships in charities all over the world. Aside from this, he also established the Bharti Charitable Foundation in 2010 to help fund projects for developing and maintaining nature and wildlife in developing countries. In 2012, he also established the Bharti School of Engineering to grant aspiring youth the opportunity to achieve their dreams of practicing engineering, while at the same time inspiring them to follow Mr. Bharti’s example of business and philanthropy.

In June of 2018, the Kazakhstan government awarded Stan Bharti the designation of Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan to Canada in recognition of his contributions to the development of business opportunities in the country.
