Clayton Rodrigues: Making the American Dream a Reality

The idea of the “American Dream” may be changing, but for one Brazilian immigrant, it has already become a beautiful reality. Clayton Rodrigues moved from his home country to the US back in 2004, with not much but a goal to create his own company and the drive to see it through no matter what. Today, he has made that happen in a big way and has the knowledge to prove it, which he hopes to share with all who want it.

When Clayton first immigrated to the US, he did not have the easiest time getting on his feet. He had to fight through many different types of adversity, and he had to work longer and harder to get himself to where he is today. Clayton aimed to build his own construction business, which he started in Sacramento, CA. He would take on all of the roles and responsibilities of the company: accounting, receptionist, salesperson, and installer. As the salesperson, he would take his time going door to door to represent his business, as well as post ads on sites such as Craigslist to build up more jobs. Clayton also had to find a way to change his mindset and how he processed things. He had to learn how to see the possibilities that could be achieved and had to essentially reprogram his mind to focus on those possibilities. Through these actions and exercises, Clayton has brought his dream into the realm of reality.

Today, this is where Clayton stands: he owns an 8-figure construction company that is doing very well. He has founded and maintained great working relationships with his clients as well as those in the industry through his hardworking attitude and excellent leadership skills. He makes a point to get the work done right quickly, and with the best materials possible. The reviews for his company are overwhelmingly positive, and there are plenty of them! Clayton still has to work every day to keep his mind in check, but now he has a passion for helping others get to that same mental state of positive thinking and goal setting. He takes time out of his days to mentor and coach any who are ready to learn.

There is more to Clayton’s life than just work, though. He is happily married to the love of his life, and they have two little boys that keep them on their toes. He is a fan of traveling as much as he can, as well as staying active and healthy. After making his own American Dream happen, Clayton also makes sure to give back to his community by donating his time as well as some of his profits to various philanthropy efforts. He has proven that immigrants can absolutely succeed in life.
