Mike Ogbebor, 38, (@MikeInc__) has come a long way from his humble beginnings in the rough neighborhoods of Houston, Texas. The self-taught entrepreneur has made millions as an investor in real estate, professional options trader, motivational speaker, and wealth coach but can remember a time of great uncertainty as a 7-year-old African immigrant.
“My story began when I turned 7 and my father put me on an airplane to embark on America. I remember being ecstatic about receiving a visa to enter the US. Imagine 5 people living in a one-bedroom apartment. That was us [my family],” said Mike.
While thrilled to be living in the United States, Mike began to feel like a bit of an outsider when his peers began to tease him about his African accent.
“One of my biggest insecurities was my thick African accent. I knew I was a smart guy and I couldn’t always express verbally what I wanted. I remember talking at times and people making fun of my accent would set fear tingles through my body, said Mike”.
Determined to make a better life for himself and his family, Mike was a dedicated student, hoping to use his education as a tool to generate enough money to advance his life far beyond the troubled neighborhoods he resided in.
After completing his undergrad at the University of Houston, Mike was accepted to the Ross University School of Medicine but at the age of 21 made the bold decision to drop out in order to pursue his passion for business.
Under the guidance of a trusted mentor, Mike began investing in real estate.
Mike researched investing tirelessly, constantly looking for new and innovative investment opportunities, and eventually was recognized as one of the top 40 American real estate investors under 40 years of age.
However, Mike did not rest on his laurels. He continues to grow his business empire, constantly looking for new ways to generate income.
His diversification in business also comes from the advice of a mentor who told Mike to create multiple streams of income and to create a reliable team. He has undoubtedly done both as he currently boasts several job titles while employing a team of reliable staff.
Mike is also the founder of Newline Investors, a venture capital firm that focuses on the development of start-up businesses. He has helped countless entrepreneurs get their businesses off the ground and has a passion for helping others succeed in business.
Mike has used his years of experience in entrepreneurship to teach others how to achieve financial independence. He teaches people through workshops, seminars, and speaking events how to make the most of their financial situation in order to create generational wealth. Mike doesn’t plan on stopping as a wealth coach and continually chases his goal of helping at least 20 people earn over $1,000,000 by 2022.
