“I am an author (Dieting Deliciously), professional fitness model, bodybuilding athlete, and entrepreneur both in and outside of the fitness world. In addition, I am currently pursuing my MA in Industrial-Organizational Psychology.” The question that sparked this answer form Marie Blanchard was simply, “What is your occupation?” This impressive list of accomplishments is only the beginning for the New York City entrepreneur whose story of success is as inspiring as it is exemplary in personal fortification.
Born in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, Marie Blanchard immigrated to the United States in 1996 when she was only 10 years old. For the next twenty years, Marie Blanchard would find herself moving from city to city along the East coast, lacking a true sense of stability. Overcoming this feeling she was missing, Blanchard took her life into her own hands and moved to the SoHo neighborhood of New York City. There she began to pursue careers in fitness and modeling. Finding her true passion in fitness, Marie decided to make it her life’s mission to help others reach their physical, nutritional, and mental goals. Spiraling into success she never could have imagined, Blanchard’s entrepreneurial spirit allowed for her to write her healthy eating and recipe book, Dieting Deliciously, and pursue other passions like the creation of her Designer Bag Exchange.
Now in a position she only imagined five years ago, Blanchard has a deep catalogue of success; however, she is not able to decide on one that stand above the rest. “Honestly, I’ve never really thought about it. I always have my hands in different baskets of goals I want to accomplish. When I finally achieve them, I check them off one by one and celebrate to myself,” Blanchard shares. Her ability to reach her goals and become successful is rooted in her inspirations, which come from everyday people who share the same past as herself.
