Leading car journalist Sergio Mariscal unveils his selection of most anticipated cars in 2020

Today, consumers are left spoilt for choice thanks to automobile manufacturers who are constantly innovating and releasing groundbreaking vehicles. From enhanced functionality and brand-new features to unique designs and eco-friendly solutions, there is plenty to look forward to in 2020. Sergio Mariscal, Mexico’s top car journalist and founder of carglobe.mx shares his insights on the most promising cars coming in 2020.

Unveiled in the latter part of 2019, the Chevrolet Suburban 2021 boasts a revamp based on the T1 body-on-frame platform, common in trucks and SUVs. Like other newly released automobiles, the SUV features optional air suspensions, a spacious interior, and a powerful V8 engine for smooth, less stressful riding experiences. Not to be outdone by Chevrolet’s big players—Suburban and Tahoe, GMC’s Yukon Denali made its debut on January 14, 2020. Unlike its predecessors, the GMC Yukon Denali is bigger in terms of a 6.1-inch increase in length, and an overall cargo space increase of 28.2 cubic feet. No doubt, the Yukon Denali has a superior ride quality with more interior space, self-leveling air suspension, and a magnetic ride control feature.

However, General Motors is not the only brand with surprises for car lovers this year—Cadillac XT6 and Escalade are revamped models to also keep on the radar in 2020. Here’s another SUV brand that consumers need to contend with since standard saloon cars are becoming less popular. Like the Chevrolet Suburban and Tahoe, the Cadillac XT6 and Escalade lean towards user comfort with more room and three rows of comfortable, ergonomic seats for large families and groups.

Mind you, the list of awaiting vehicles doesn’t revolve solely around SUVs and trucks. Thanks to the Porsche 911 speedster, speed lovers have something to look forward to on the road. Although the vehicle features all-too-familiar dished wheels and a tall rear wing atop a ducktail spoiler, this model is quite a stunner in terms of improved functionality. The racer has an automatic version that can go from zero to 60 mph in just three seconds, and it’s quicker with a harder grip than its predecessors.

Given that 2020 is still in its starting phase, there are bound to be even more surprises along the way for automobile aficionados.
