In 2016 Vigilante was in the middle of his radio tour when he caught wind that Debra Antney (the mother of waka flaka flame) and former manage of Nicki Minaj, Gucci Mane, O J The Juice Man and many more).
Vigilante had say him mom watching Deb on television a few days prior and say her hanging on to deb’s every word. The mission to get interviewed be her started that day. After doing a week of research Vigilante say that Deb’s schedule was full but there was an opening on the show a Brandon, BMS Quam and Dj Waffles.
The interview came with a fee and even thou at this time Vigilante was struggling financially he already made him mind up that he was going to be on the show. Vigilante’s step father even offered to go have on the fee with vigilante to secure the interview. This sparker a disturbing phone call from Vigilante’s mom who was not fully in support of the career of Vigilante. This conversation would lead to Vigilante shooting to meet Deb even more.
The day of the interview Vigilante had no idea what to expect but knew this would be a career advancing move. The interview last almost 3 hours and it ended with all 3 members of the show being fans of Vigilantes lyrical ability and business mindset. After the interview Vigilante immediately starting plotting on the Deb interview. It took Vigilante almost a year to get in contact with Deb’s radio people. Once he did they were ready to make the interview happen. After the date was set Vigilante started plotting on how the full day would go. The interview was not until around 1pm so Vigilante planned to fill up the morning to build hype leading up to the interview. Vigilantes plan was to go to all the major radio stations and drop off his new single. Thats exactly what he did. Hiring his friend Marques (the owner of Triangle Tase Films) to capture the entire day. Once done dropping off music at Hot 107.9, V103, Streetz 94.5 and I Heart radio Vigilante headed over to Be100 Radio. Deb’s people to him to the green room and from the green room vigilante could see that there was a guest host sitting alongside Deb. This guest turned out to be chicago rapper Rico Reckless.
The green room had a both attached to it so before the interview started Deb said she wanted to hear some bars before meeting vigilante face to face. Vigilante accepted this challenge but due to technical difficulties Vigilante ended up spitting his freestyle right to Deb’s face. Deb loved the freestyle and requested to hear it again, so vigilante rapped it again. After the 2nd time the interview officially began. Deb immediately told Marques he was limited to photos he could take and not video was allowed. If you can find this interview and only photos this is the reason why. This interview lasted almost 3 hours. Deb gave Vigilante priceless advice. After the interview Deb encouraged vigilante to stay and interview on DJ Waffles Show. Vigilante accreted the offer and they had a great hour interview.
