An Exclusive Interview with Dr. La Toya Davis: How Neuroscience and Spiritual Growth Can Transform Lives

There’s something electric about a person who sees both the brain and the soul as central to transformation. Dr. La Toya Davis is that kind of guide. She has a background in neuroscience and a deep connection to spiritual growth. She bridges science and soul in a way that feels both grounding and expansive.

Through her personal brand and the CHI Healing Institute, Dr. Davis helps women stop shrinking themselves to fit old stories. She’s here to remind them that they are allowed to want more. Her work, through coaching, workshops, and self-paced courses, calls women back to themselves. Back to that voice that whispers, “You were made for this.”

In this interview, Dr. Davis talks about breaking cycles, healing what’s inherited, and trusting the intuition we’ve been taught to doubt. This is the perfect read for everyone who has felt like life looks fine on the outside but feels off on the inside.

Q1: To start, could you share your journey with us? What inspired you to integrate neuroscience and spiritual growth into your work, and how did that lead to the founding of CHI Healing Institute?

Dr. La Toya Davis: My journey began as a deeply personal spiritual evolution. I was first grounded in African traditional spiritual systems, which gave me a profound respect for earth alchemy, ancestral wisdom, ritual, and energetic truth. Over time, I was introduced to Akashic Records, and that experience opened me to universal consciousness in a way I hadn’t previously accessed. The Records became a gateway—not only to deeper self-awareness but also to broader concepts of healing, soul purpose, and energetic alignment.

As I worked more deeply in the Akashic Records, I began exploring related modalities like hypnosis and regression work. That naturally led me into the study of the mind, neuroplasticity, and the ways our beliefs are formed and stored in the body and brain. I started to see the connections between what spiritual traditions have always known and what modern science is just beginning to articulate—that we are shaped by both energy and experience, and that transformation happens when we address both.

CHI Healing Institute started simply, with me offering guidance through the Akashic Records. But as I continued to grow in my own understanding of neuroscience, universal laws, and energetic healing, it evolved into a multidimensional healing space. Today, CHI Healing Institute exists to help people move beyond conditioning and inherited limitations so they can reconnect with their soul’s blueprint and live in full alignment. It’s a space where science and spirituality are not separate, but complementary tools for deep and lasting transformation.

Q2: Your work focuses on overcoming limiting beliefs to achieve professional fulfillment. Can you explain how neuroscience plays a role in identifying and rewiring these beliefs?

Dr. La Toya Davis: Neuroscience helps us understand that beliefs are not just passing thoughts. They are actual neural patterns in the brain, created through repetition, life experiences, and sometimes even inherited trauma. When someone feels stuck in self-doubt or scarcity, it’s often because their nervous system has adapted to that as the “safe” or familiar state. In my work, I use brain-based strategies like pattern interruption, nervous system regulation, and neuroplasticity tools alongside spiritual practices such as accessing the Akashic Records. This combination helps us locate the root cause of limiting beliefs and begin replacing them with new, soul-aligned narratives that are both empowering and sustainable.

Q3: The CHI Healing Institute emphasizes a unique blend of science and spirituality. What are some key principles or methodologies that set your approach apart from traditional practices?

Dr. La Toya Davis: At CHI Healing Institute, our approach is rooted in the belief that true transformation happens when science and spirituality work together—not in opposition, but in harmony. What sets us apart is our commitment to integrating both ancestral wisdom and modern understanding of the mind, energy, and human behavior.

The work began when I combined my training in the Akashic Records with my previous studies in energy healing, crystals, herbs, and spiritual counseling to support spiritual seekers, but as I expanded my own learning, so did the methodology. I began studying hypnosis, regression therapy, neuroscience, and universal laws, and started to see powerful connections between how our subconscious mind operates and how energy, memory, and ancestral patterns influence our reality.

That evolution led to the development of the SHIFT Protocol™, a five-step framework that combines neuroscience, quantum principles, and soul-level healing. It helps individuals move from misalignment and burnout to clarity, expansion, and aligned action. We use tools like the Akashic Records, sound healing, subconscious reprogramming, and ancestral lineage healing alongside mindset work, nervous system regulation, and energetic practices.

Unlike traditional models that may focus only on surface behavior or mindset, our work goes to the root—emotional, energetic, ancestral, and neurological. The result is a lasting transformation that honors the complexity of being human while guiding people back to the truth of who they are. That integration is the heart of what makes CHI Healing Institute different.

Q4: Transforming lives often involves addressing deeply rooted challenges. Can you share a success story where your methods brought about a significant transformation for an individual or organization?

Dr. La Toya Davis: One powerful example is a senior executive who came to me exhausted and ready to walk away from a career she once loved. Through our work together, we uncovered ancestral patterns of over-responsibility and a deep fear of letting others down. Using the Akashic Records, we reframed her soul’s purpose, and through the SHIFT Protocol™, we identified how her nervous system was reinforcing burnout as a survival strategy. After integrating new mindset tools, energetic rituals, and boundary work, she was able to redesign her role, advocate for change in her organization, and also launch a new creative venture. She found freedom not just in her career, but in her entire way of being.

Q5: You’ve mentioned the importance of achieving congruence between mind, body, and spirit. How can individuals incorporate this into their daily routines to create meaningful, lasting changes?

Dr. La Toya Davis: Congruence is about alignment. It means that what you think, feel, and do are all working together in support of who you really are. A simple way to begin is to pause each day and ask three questions: What is my mind focused on? What does my body need right now? What is my spirit asking for? From there, you can take small actions that address each one. That might look like journaling to release mental clutter, stretching or walking to reconnect with your body, or setting an intention that feels meaningful. These small daily choices create momentum and gradually shift your baseline from survival mode to aligned living.

Q6: Finally, as a thought leader in this field, what advice would you give to those who feel stuck in their personal or professional lives and are unsure of where to begin their transformation journey?

Dr. La Toya Davis: Give yourself permission to want more. That inner nudge you feel, that quiet knowing that something isn’t working, is not a flaw. It’s an invitation. You don’t need to have all the answers to begin. Start by being honest about what isn’t aligned anymore. Get curious. Ask yourself what you would choose if fear and expectations weren’t in the way. Then take one inspired step, whether that’s reading a book, joining a community, exploring your spirituality, or working with a coach. Your transformation doesn’t start with a perfect plan. It begins the moment you decide you’re no longer willing to stay in a version of life that doesn’t reflect who you truly are.
