Gulsina Kalimullina: From Global Runways to the Silver Screen

Gulsina Kalimullina is a model and actress whose career spans New York, Milan, and Paris, where she effortlessly merges fashion with performance. Signed with Wilhelmina in New York, she is shaping her path with elegance, artistry, and ambition. From high-profile campaigns to her first cinematic roles, Gulsina is redefining what it means to be a modern muse.

Gulsina, you work with top agencies all over the world — from New York to Milan. In which city do you feel most comfortable working as a model, and why?

Every city has its own rhythm, but New York feels like home to me professionally. The pace is fast, the energy is electric, and I love how the industry there constantly challenges me to grow. At the same time, I always enjoy Milan for its timeless elegance. Paris also has a special place in my heart — the creativity there is magnetic, and working in that atmosphere feels like pure artistry.

How has your life changed since signing with Wilhelmina in New York?

Signing with Wilhelmina gave me a sense of stability and direction in the U.S. It opened doors to work with incredible creatives and brands, but more importantly, it gave me confidence in my place within the industry. I feel I’ve grown not only as a model but also as an artist in many ways.

You combine a modelling career with acting. In 2024, you appeared in the short film Catwoman: Night Stalker. What was that experience like, and what are your plans in cinema for the near future?

Acting gives me a completely different outlet for creativity. In Catwoman: Night Stalker, I loved exploring a darker, more mysterious side of performance — it pushed me outside my comfort zone in the best way. At the same time, I’m studying at the William Esper Studio, which has been an incredible journey of learning and growth. The training is helping me deepen my craft and bring more truth and presence to every role. Looking ahead, I want to dive deeper into film, especially projects that allow me to blend strength with vulnerability. I’m very excited about it.

GUESS, Elle Arabia, QP Magazine, HUF… Which of these shoots left you with the most vivid memories, and why?

Each one was special, but my GUESS campaign is unforgettable. The brand has such an iconic legacy, and being part of that visual story felt like stepping into a piece of fashion history. The energy on set was vibrant, and it reminded me why I fell in love with modelling in the first place. And Paul Marciano was on set — it was truly one of the most unforgettable moments of my career.

Which designer or brand do you dream of collaborating with in the future?

There are many, but Dior and Burberry have always been a dream. The combination of elegance, artistry, and femininity in their designs resonates with me. I’d also love to work with Saint Laurent — their bold, confident aesthetic matches how I see myself evolving as a woman and as an artist.
